Clubs @ Hungerford Prep

Robert Hungerford Preparatory High School affords opportunities for students to become affiliated with numerous local, state, and national organizations. Students participate in extracurricular interest clubs and co-curricular clubs. Clubs host dances, contests, and fund-raisers.

Co-curricular clubs are academy-related organizations. Students participate in club activities with other members of their academies. These clubs expand students' knowledge of their career interests and give them leadership opportunities.

Leadeship Development Clubs provide students with a vehicle to pursue their interest in a specific area or hobby. Students may join by submitting an application to the club's faculty sponsor. Students are then expected to observe the rules of the club and participate in club activities.

Future Leaders of America

Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) is the club for Global Business students. The club focuses on leadership development. Students compete with students from other schools in the district.
National Future Farmers of America
FFA
National Future Farmers of America (FFA) students are in the Agricultural Biotechnology Academy. Students participate in local, state, and national activities. Students in this club are interested in a variety of careers related to agriculture, horticulture, and biotechnology. This club focuses on leadership development.
ProStart/ACF
ICA
Future Homemakers of America (FHA) members are in the International Culinary Arts Academy. They focus on the skills they need to open and operate restaurants and other food industry operations.
Technology Student Association
IS
Technology Student Association (TSA) is the organization for students in the Information Systems Academy. Members participate in technological activities and competitions.

Do Something Club

 

SGA is the decision-making body for the entire student population. Students are elected by their classmates to serve as SGA representatives. These class leaders are responsible for designing and organizing schoolwide events. Members selected the mascot, school song, creed, and pledge.
Sophomore Class This club coordinates events that are unique for the class of 2010. They organize a spring dance and start plans for the Senior Prom and graduation. The officers are elected by the members of the freshman class.
Junior Class This club coordinates events that are unique for the class of 2009. They organize a spring dance and start plans for the Senior Prom and graduation. The officers are elected by the members of the freshman class.
Senior Class This club coordinates events that are unique for the class of 2008. They organize a spring dance and start plans for the Senior Prom and graduation. The officers are elected by the members of the freshman class.
Art This club draws paintings and sculptures.
Book/Film This club expands world views by watching classic and new movies and interpreting their impacts on today's society.
Campus Beautification This club maintains the school grounds and helps to make the school a better place.
Chess If you want to learn more about chess and participate in chess competitions, this club is for you. Students use chess boards and computer simulations to play chess. They may compete against other chess clubs in the district.
Dance This club learns to express itself by dancing movements.
Drama This club will focus on plays from various time periods and genres. Students will act out plays during club meetings and will work on two major productions. Members will learn about casting, make-up, costumes, stage designs, cue cards, etc.
National Honor Society    
Personal Fitness   If you are interested in losing body fat, toning muscles, or nutrition, this club is for you. The Personal Fitness Club consists of students who are interested in developing healthier, better looking bodies.
Renaissance/Ambassadors   Made up of school Ambassadors, this club sponsors events that show appreciation for "stiffly" and students.
International Club   The International Club gives students opportunities to discuss and plan activities, field trips, and social events for students who want to learn more about World cultures.
Yearbook   The Yearbook Club is responsible for recording school activities in videos and photographs. The members will prepare the school yearbook for publication. Students will attend field trips and other activities to record the events for the yearbook.
