The Global Business Academy is comprised of three programs of study: Entrepreneurship, International Business, and American Airlines Customer Relations. Each program runs as a model office with students operating training and practice firms that function as businesses within an office environment. The Entrepreneurship students will create and develop their own business ideas, products, and school-based enterprises. The entrepreneur will operate the student bookstore and provider services for community members. International Business students will explore the global market place and establish and operate an on-campus bank supervised by a Financial Institution. American Airlines students will experience live, non-simulated reservations training in their model office setting. In addition, students will eventually be able to offer reservation services to Orange County Public School Personnel who travel for professional development.
The Global Business Complex consists of a large model office and classroom. The office includes a receptionist’s desk, office managers’ stations, individual student workstations, and conference areas. There is a counter for American Airlines ticket sales and a bank window. Students operate in a realistic business setting.
Members of the Global Business Advisory Board seek ways to give students practical experiences in business, finance, and travel and tourism. Board Members keep students and faculty abreast of industry trends, needs, and requirements. Students will have opportunities to intern with some of the businesses that make up the Advisory Board.
